Our competition nights begin on October 4 and as a paid member you are eligible and encouraged to compete! To upload your photos, visit lcc.photoclubservices.com <http://lcc.photoclubservices.com> . Login and click on Competitions –> Submit Images to a Competition. You will see a list of competitions you can enter. Right now you will probably only see a list of four: the four categories for October. More will be added as time allows.
Photos are due by midnight the morning of the competition, or 11:59 p.m. the night before the competition — whichever is easier for you to remember! You can enter two photos in each category. The Themed category changes each month. October’s theme is: Emotions. November will be Reflections, and December will be Black & White/Sepia. Enter those emotions photos now!
I encourage you to try to upload your photos soon. Since this is the first competition for me to ‘chair’ please believe me when I say it has been quite a learning curve for me. If you have any trouble logging in or need your password reset, please let me know ASAP.
Finally, remember that all of our regular competition nights are open to viewers. It is a very pleasant way to spend an evening regardless of whether you have photos in the competition that night or not. I have learned a great deal simply by attending and looking at other photographers’ work. Competitions are held in the basement of the church just like our regular camera club meetings, at least while the upstairs is being renovated. Hope to see you next Thursday, October 4, at 7:00 p.m.!
One final thing — I inherited this email account from Stacy when I became competition chair. We figured it was easier to hand over an email account than to try and make sure our email was correct with all the PSA folks we need to communicate with. Therefore, please check your Contacts or Address Book and change this address — firstname.lastname@example.org — to something generic like LCC Competition, instead of Stacy Carlson. I encourage members to use this address for communicating with the competition chair — me (Rebecca) for now — for any issues dealing with LCC photo competition. Thanks!
P.S. One added bonus of attending competition night even if you aren’t competing is that occasionally we are short on judges. Your presence could really help us out of a bind in that situation!
