You must be a member in good standing with Lincoln Camera Club to be eligible to enter our competitions. A current membership list will be used for verification. All entries MUST be the original work of the entrant.
Every month, unless noted, the Club hosts a digital photography competition. Club members are invited and encouraged to participate as a way to learn and grow their photography skills. There are generally four categories in which to enter images. Contact the Competition Chair if you ever need to reset your password.
Annual Local Competition
Each year in May, the Club hosts a year-end photo competition. The top three images of each monthly competition category during the year are automatically entered into this competition. Winners of this “Best of the Best” competition are announced at the Club’s Annual May Salon & Banquet.
Each spring, the Club submits photographs for competition to two different camera clubs in England. This tradition dates back many years. The Lincoln Camera Club then hosts and judges a competition for both the N&DPS and the RBCC clubs in return.
About the Judging
Judging is done on the basis of technique, composition and interest. We ask photographers from outside the club to judge our competitions. They do an amazing job with critiques and feedback, and we greatly value the time and effort they provide to us.
The Professional Photographers of America has established 12 Elements of a Good Photograph and utilizes these elements as the ‘gold standard’ to define a merit image. The use of these 12 elements connects the modern practice of photography and its photographers to the historical practice of photography begun nearly two centuries ago.
