Board and Committee members present: Karen Harris, Jim Atkins, Donna Gustafson, Angela Carroll, Jim Budka, Darrel Watts and Bev Mazur.
President Budka called the meeting to order in his home.
Treasurer’s Report – the balance in the club treasury is $2,739.22.
The board discussed holding our meetings and judging competitions at the Eastridge Presbyterian Church. The church will set up the room. They charge $10 for each meeting. A motion was made and seconded to hold our in the church. The motion carried.
Angela Carroll will serve on the committee. Yvonne Nelson and Susan Ellis will be asked to serve on the committee.
Camera Project at the Children’s Zoo
Jim Atkins will no longer run this project. The board will solicit another volunteer to run it. Stacy Carlson loaned the club a suitcase to hold the camera and supplies for this project. The suitcase will be returned to Stacy and the club will purchase one. A motion was made and seconded to allow Jim Budka to purchase a suitcase for about $50. The motion carried.
Stacy Carlson will resign as Competition Chair at the end of the club year.
Julie Halloran will resign as Program Chair at the end of the club year.
A motion was made and seconded to purchase a replacement battery for the club’s laptop. The price range for a replacement battery is between $64 and $94. The motion carried.
The club will ask Jeff Kurrus of Nebraskaland Magazine to speak at the May Salon. Bev Mazur will make arrangements to hold our banquet at The Knolls on May 17.
Severe Weather Symposium
It was moved and seconded that we suspend our participation in the Severe Weather Symposium this year. The motion carried. Linda Graham will tell Ken Dewey of our decision.
