March 2012 LCC Competition

Please join us on March 1, 2012 for the club’s competition judging meeting.  At 7:00 pm, we will begin the judging for the competition.

The Lincoln Camera Club competitions meetings are held at Eastridge Presbyterian Church at 1135 Eastridge Drive, Lincoln, NE in the Huxtable Lounge.

Each month we have different categories that members can participate in and you can view the competition calendar here:  http://lcc.photoclubservices.com/club/clubschedules.aspx

You can find the tutorial on how to upload your images here:  http://lcc.photoclubservices.com/Default.aspx (scroll down to How to Submit Your Images}

We have a judging meeting on the first Thursday of each month where that month’s images are viewed by 3 LCC judges, scored and giving a critique.  This is a wonderful opportunity to have your photography viewed by others and hear what they thought was outstanding and if anything could be improved upon.

For this competition, we will be judging images in the following categories.  You can find the Submit Image Page here.  Just click on the category you want to submit your images to.
  • Color Projected Image Division (March 2012)
  • Color Projected Image Division: Creative (March 2012)
  • Themed (March 2012)

The deadline for submitting your pictures is February 29, 2012.

The theme for month is Still Life so don’t forget to submit those photos as well!  To read more about our competitions, please visit the Competition Center

LCC Photo Exchange with N&DPS 2012 by Clark Springman

This being the second year of our photo exchange with Newark & District Photographic Society, we sent 48 images to them for judging, representing 13 of our “brightest and best” photographers. Newark choose the top ten for awards, the first place going to Rebecca Hueske, which entitles her to have her name, year, and photo name to be engraved on the traveling trophy plaque that N&DPS were so kind to send to us last year.

We hope to continue this relationship for a long time.

Susan Ellis Completes PSA Individualized Photo Course

Lincoln Camera Club and PSA member, Susan Ellis,  has Completed the  free PSA (Photographic Society of America) Individualized Photo Course available to PSA members. She will receive a Certificate and her name will be listed in the PSA Journal as a Graduate of the course.

The PSA Individualized Photo Course is free and available to PSA members. There are instructors and two books to show the tools of photography and assist you in their understanding. If you are already familiar with the tools the instructors are hopeful this will give you practice and feedback to improve on the skills you understand. The course is designed to enhance your PSA experience.

This course is available to individual members of PSA. Students will have six (6) months to complete the course. At the end of that period we hope you will be finished. If, however, you are not finished, the course will end. If you are an advanced worker the course will be tailored to your abilities. If you are a beginner the same is true.
