With great sorrow I am advising you all of the passing yesterday of my mother, Yvonne. She enjoyed immensely her friendship with all of you and her association with the camera club and regretted that she would no longer be able to connect with each of you when she relocated to California last year.
This last year was a difficult one for her. She lived with Lacey in an apartment in Hemet until she began having mini strokes, aka TIAs, in August and was hospitalized. She made the difficult decision to give up her treasured friend, Lacey, that month and would never again be able to live on her own. She lived for the last seven months in a residential board and care facility after diagnoses of emphysema, COPD, osteoporosis and, ultimately, diabetes. Her breathing became more labored in recent days and she was provided oxygen to assist her. She passed peacefully in her sleep early yesterday morning.
We plan a memorial service at Roper Funeral Home in Lincoln in September followed by interment of her ashes at Weston Cemetery. When details have been finalized, I’ll circulate another email for anyone interested in attending.
